conveying dreams and values

Giving the courage to dream

What's it about:

Stories have the power to inspire children and instill values. They are an ideal tool to encourage children to dream big while sharing messages of kindness, courage and hope.

Why it is important:

Children often see the world as a world of endless possibilities. Stories about dreams, challenges and overcoming show them that they too can make a difference. At the same time, they learn values that can shape their actions and make them empathetic people.

Take action:

Tell stories about heroes who have achieved great things despite adversity, or create stories that show how small actions can make a big difference. Ask your child questions like, "What would you do in this situation?" or "How could the world be a better place?"

First tip to get started:

Tell the story of a little frog who is looking for his place in a huge world. Describe how he sees things from his perspective and what adventures he experiences. Let your child help decide how the story continues and what values the frog discovers on his journey.
